Chapter One
The Silver Maiden of the Forest~

"Are you sure we can trust this woman, Mickey?" Winter was once again approaching the lands, already the ground was being blanketed by the thin coverings of snow, and any bits of green were hidden under the cold. But it seems that the Winter snow wasn't the only thing that was coming this year. This year marked the first year of his children's birth, and what better place to celebrate their birth, then at the Mansion of the De'Collette? "The Silver Maiden has always been a friend to me, Mina. I've known her for as long as I can remember." Count Dragul was by the carriage with Mina as they were both getting ready to depart the castle with their children, the two little infants bundled up in their bright sky blue blanket; though Emily was sound asleep, Zuritan's eyes were wide open and just looking around at EVERYTHING~ This was his first time seeing snow and it looked just like his sister's skin.

As Dragul escorted his bride into the carriage, a loud thump and grunt was heard in the back and Mickey took a moment to see what all the noise was. "DAMNIT! What is it with you women and carrying so much crap in one damn bag?" Ah, the ever so lovable Oswald; as an added precaution, and to help put his wife at ease, Count Dragul has asked Oswald to join them on their journey to the Silver Maiden's domain. Watching as Oswald struggled, he snickered lightly at a passing thought; how was it that Oswald can kill all sorts of vampires, and he can't even lift up a single bag?

Of course, having heard Dragul's snicker, Oswald gave Mickey the stink eye, "Yeah, yeah. Yuck it up! I don't see you over here pitting this shit in the back!"

"Is it truly that difficult?" Mickey asked with a grin on his face, "Here, let me assist you."

Oswald waited for the right moment; when Mickey grabbed the bag by the handle, that's when Oswald dropped the back and watched as Mickey fell to the ground from the bag's sheer weight. He leans forward to look down at the fallen Count and grins, "Not so easy, now is it?" Micky was simply dumbfounded!! He just thought that Oswald was simply exaggerating when he said that Mina's bag was too heavy, but this is ridiculous! Though driven to prove Oswald wrong, Mickey lifts up the bag with all of his strength and with a little struggle, he managed to get it into the back of the carridge, "Huff huff... s-see? Not a p-problem."

"Uh huh, says the one that's sweating and panting." Oswald replied with a cocky smile on his face, "Since you can do this by yourself," he thumbs behind him, his sneaky smile only growing as there was still three more bags. "Why don't you have the honor in packing in the rest?" Oh the expression on Mickey's gawking face was just PRICELESS!! Oh, if only he had some sort of device to capture this moment.

~~~~~~~
It didn't take them long, before all of them were off; while Count Dragul and Mina were in the comfort of their coffin with their children, Oswald sat in the back seat of the carriage, watching as the scenery changed from the view of Count Dragul's castle to the sudden mass of tall and majestic trees. Oswald had to be careful when looking up, he didn't want to fall out of his seat and then have to walk the rest of the way to their destination. Though something did bother him about this 'Silver' Maiden, they were to meet; the name sounded familiar, but he just wasn't able to tell from where he had heard it from.
"We are nearing." Hissed the driver in a soft, yet eerie manner; his voice always seemed to send shivers up and down Oswald's back. As he leaned to the side, Oswald's mouth dropped and his eyes shot wide like saucer's, "THAT'S A MANSION?!"
"Oswald, must you be so loud?" Count Dragul asked, having woken from the loud shout, as he took a minute to look outside the window and smiled to a familiar sight. The carriage entered a large courtyard, with white roses decorating the bushes and hedges. The dirt ground slowly merged with the cobble stone ground, making the clip-clopping of the horses hooves a little louder. "Mina... welcome to the De'Colette Mansion; home of the Silver Maiden." Mina rubbed her eyes a little, but felt her breath taken away at the beauty of the mansion; the air here felt so calm and peaceful.
Finally the carriage came to a stop; Oswald jumped down from his seat and looked around, "Sheesh, this isn't a Mansion, this is an Estate! A large one at that, too." Being too busy at looking at the height of the mansion, a hand reached out to tap Oswald on the shoulder.
"GAAAH!!" By instinct, Oswald swung around and aimed a gun at whoever it was that touched him.
"AAAAH!!" Yelped a short elderly wolf, who's small glasses went crocked as he jumped to find a gun at his face.
Once Oswald saw that it was just an old man, he put his gun away, "I-I'm sorry, are you alright?" He watched as the elder clung to his chest, just above the area of his heart; he was shaking terribly from Oswald pointing that gun at him. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you sir, you just... startled me."
"Oswald, are you causing trouble alre-- Allister!" At the sound of a familiar voice, the elder turned to see Count Dragul's smile and felt himself become more at ease. The Count went to the elder and hugged him as gently as possible, laughing with joy to see such a familiar face, "How are you?"
"I could be better," The old wolf said, as he eyed Oswald rather fearfully, "Ahem... But what about you, my Lord Dragul? Word has reached these old ears that you've found yourself a bride?"
"Indeed," He motions his hand out to the carriage door and out came Mina, with the two children still asleep in her arms, "Allister, this is my wife; Mina and my two children, Emily and Zuritan." Mickey's smile only widened when he saw Allister chuckle and bow lightly to Mina. "And the one flinging his gun around, is Oswald VanHelsing." Mickey said, rather begrudgingly, thumbing over to Oswald, who looked like he had something on his mind.
"Ah... I see." By the tone in Allister's voice, he seemed even more afraid of Oswald then he already was. "Why don't we go inside, hmm? It's much too cold for little one's, and mother's for that matter." He kindly ushers Mina inside, as well as Mickey; to Oswald, he froze and slowly made his way around him to usher the other two inside. Looks like Oswald has his work cut out for him.
~~~~~~~~~~

As Allister led all of them down the great halls, he called out in the hopes that he would get a reply and know the location of the mansion's owner. "Lady Titannia? Where are you?"

"Titannia? I thought the Silver Maiden lived here." Oswald commented, looking around at all of the old portraits, some of which, had slashes across the faces.

"Silver Maiden is just an alias she goes by," Allister replied, his old ears twitching to the sound of music; "Her real name is Titannia De'Colette, and I think I may have found where she is." As they made a right into a large music room, a very tall woman (close to about 7 feet tall) was pouring herself a drink as she was listening to the fine music of Mozart and Beethoven. "Pardon me, Lady Titannia, but our guests have arrived." He bows his head, motioning to Count Dragul and his company.

Oswald's eyes grew to see the tall woman and gulps, "... someone's been eating her veggies." He muttered.

"Ah! Finally I get to meet Dragul's Bride!" She turns, revealing her beautiful golden eye, as the other part of her face was covered by a mask, hiding her other eye. She walks over to Dragul's side and happily pat's him on the back with a big smile, "I've known you since you were a child and you don't even send me an invitation to the wedding? Ha ha ha! It's good to see you my young friend."

"Young?" Oswald blurted, "Just how old are you lady?"

"Young man!" Allister snapped, shocked to hear such disrespect, "You will not address my Lady, in such a tone or manner."

"Allister, relax." Titannia began in a calm voice; she looked to Oswald and chuckled with a toothy grin, "I know you, VanHelsing, right?" She walks over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, her smile began to change into that of the Cheshire cat, "You are more then welcome to stay in my humble home, but the next time you point a gun in my home or on my property, I will make sure your nights are restless." Ah, one of Titannia's many abilities, is being able to see everything that happens on her lands.

Oswald gulped a little as he felt so short compared to the tall woman, but wouldn't let that bother him, so gave her a thumbs up as his way of saying, 'Okay.'
